Blocked, bound, and ready to go!
The "No Patience Blocks" blocks were created using Anita Grossman Solomon's cutting and piecing methods found in her book Rotary Cutting Revolution. I love Anita's simplified techniques for rotary cutting and paper piecing. The traditional block pattern is 'patience corners.'
“Zen of Fans” detail showing all-over Baptist fan quilting pattern.
I wanted to the fans to collide in the middle of the quilt so I stitched around the borders first then worked my way toward the middle of the quilt. More work to do it this way because I had to secure the blocks but it was worth the extra effort.
Pieced blocks include fabrics from Amy Butler, batiks, Japanese indigos, and Kaffe Fassett.
The all over one-inch fans were quilted from edge to edge on my Bernina longarm using Gadget Girls circle templates.
Check out Anita's Craftsy class Traditional Blocks Made Simple. Her book is included with the online class as a free download. Great value!
